The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) is cracking down on the way broadband pricing is advertised.
From 31st October 2016 ASA has recommended that future broadband advertisements should:
- Outline all costs involved (upfront costs, ongoing costs and contract length)
- Contain one inclusive price for upfront costs and one inclusive price for on going costs (combined line rental and broadband cost where the provider is supplying the PSTN line)
- Ensure that any discount or introductory price (to one or some of the elements) is made clear at the outset.
