FTTC Fibre To The Cabinet Broadband
Datanet offers FTTC fibre connectivity with speeds of up to 80Mbps. Visit any built up area and you will find dark green cabinets along the roadside. These cabinets have historically contained all the connections and communications equipment for your Internet and telephony connections. However, in recent years BT has introduced FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) by replacing the copper wire from the exchange to the cabinet with fibre, resulting in increased speeds of up to 80Mbps downstream and 20Mbps upstream. However, In August 2023 the underlying copper PSTN line supporting FTTC will go end of life so, unless you already have a PSTN line, FTTC will aslo be going end of life.
FTTP Fibre To The Premises Broadband
Datanet also offers FTTP Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) using fibre all the way to your premises rather than stopping at the cabinet like FTTC. With the whole journey from exchange to premises over fibre, FTTP can support speeds of up to 1000Mbps downstream/115Mbps upstream. Datanet offers a number of speed options for FTTP and other connection types, give us a call to discuss.
FTTP is increasingly available around the UK, FTTP on Demand is not widely available, call us to check your options.
