The Business Challenge

Due to the demanding nature of the media solutions that Dalet provide, they were looking for a high power rack (6kW ~24Amps) with a generous allocation of Internet bandwidth (dual 10Gb) in a high security facility with 24×7 access for their engineers. Preferably a half hour from their Basingstoke offices. Dalet would also appreciate help with the actual move of their servers for which Datanet were able to offer use of our van, ramp and flight cases.

Datanet’s Solution

Dalet’s Ultra racks from Datanet enable their 450 dedicated employees in 18 global offices to securely access all of their media assets. Their dual resilient 10Gb connectivity out to the internet ensures fast downloads even for large productions. Sustainability credentials were important for Dalet and The Ark data centre was built and is maintained with sustainability in mind. For a period of up to 6 months after the move Dalet required extra space in the form of a ⅓ mini rack alongside the main 47U Ultra rack whilst they were installing new equipment and rationalising their older kit and Datanet were able to accommodate that too.
