Datanet Installs VESDA Fire Detection System at Aspen House

Datanet has made further investment into its Aspen House data centre and installed a VESDA fire detection system.  VESDA, (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) is a fire detection system that works by continuously sampling the air by a highly efficient aspirator. VEADS Panel

This air is passed through a dual stage filtering process where any dust or dirt present is removed.  The air sample is then passed to a laser detection chamber.  When there is evidence of smoke in an air sample, the sophisticated receiver system can identify this and send a signal to the control panel which triggers the alarm sounders and visual beacons.
Datanet is now even more confident that your hosted equipment at Aspen House is not only secure, but in the best environment to keep it healthy!

Introduction of ADSL Cease Charges
From 1st March 2010, Datanet will be passing on to our customers the charge imposed on Datanet by BT for the cancellation of ADSL connections.  Currently this charge is £26.00 + VAT per connection.  For clarity, we will not levy this charge if the customer requests and utilises a MAC (migration) code to migrate a service away from Datanet to another ISP, or, for example, in the case of an office move where a replacement service is ordered at the same time or when a service is cancelled but being replaced with an alternative connectivity solution.
