20/03/2007 – Microsoft Vista compatibility problem with Juniper NetScreen Remote

Datanet has recently received a number of calls from customers querying the compatibility of Vista with Juniper NetScreen Remote (secure and standard). Datanet’s advice to you if you are thinking of using Vista is; do not upgrade to Vista if you have such software until Juniper NetScreen has released news detailing a solution. Currently Juniper has said “A beta version of newly architected NetScreen Remote IPSec client that supports Microsoft’s Vista Operating system is expected to be available in Q2 2007.” This version will only be available to current NetScreen Remote customers. All customers with our Premier Support for their NetScreen remote will receive a free upgrade to the new version when released.

N.B. Some Datanet customers have also experienced an error when combining Vista with the latest Windows XP drivers for the SpeedTouch 330 Modem. New drivers for this are planned in the next month, alternatively you can upgrade to a SpeedTouch 546 Router.
