06/11/2008 – All Through The Night

Friday, 24th October 2008, a cold dark night, the Technical Support Team at Datanet embarked on an overnight project to relocate some thirty servers and Cisco switches from one of our London datacentres to our newest datacentre at Aspen House, Fleet.

Following the transfer of the equipment, the ‘Team’ installed, tested and monitored the servers before finally making their way home at 7.00am on Saturday, 25th! The operation took some 12 hours.

This system of servers and switches, which manage and process mail, web space, domains, RADIUS authentication, anti-virus and anti-spam, are now housed here ‘on site’ with our Technical Team, so, should any issue arise, our response times to solving the problem will be even better than before!

This move is just part of a programme of improvements to the service we provide to you, our customers. Datanet has made a huge investment in the Aspen House datacentre and together with you we will see a continued improvement in services and delivery across our network.
