Since its establishment in 1978, DebRA has relied on support from voluntary donations to be able to continue to help people who live with EB.

The charity is the largest provider of EB research; funds received go towards understanding the illness with current priorities being: work towards the development of gene therapy, understand the nature of cancer in recessive dystrophic EB, understand the nature of wound healing in EB and improve the management of EB through clinical research. Receiving donations from the public and commercial sources is vital to the progress of such research.

Recently Datanet, a local business Internet Service Provider based in Aldershot, presented a cheque to DebRA, to assist with furthering the research and raise awareness of Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).

Managing Director Conleth McCallan comments “DebRA, do great work to support people with EB not just by raising awareness throughout the UK and championing research but also supporting people and their families who are effected by EB. We at Datanet recognise how much this work means to those affected and wanted to help. The cheque will go a little way to continuing that help and support.”
